The Charles and Katherine Fleetwood Pre-Columbian Collection of the University of Houston stemmed from Mr. Fleetwood’s long-established interest in art, especially in the artifacts and paintings of Mexico, Central America and the Southwest United States, as well as his interest in the University, which he served with distinction since the beginning of his eight year term as regent in 1955.
This collection contained fifty-six pieces, most of which came from Western Mexico.
