Thad "Bo" Smith
Thad “Bo” Smith was appointed to the University Of Houston Board of Regents by Governor
George W. Bush in May of 1998 and served on the Board until August of 2005. He served
as Chairman of the Board in addition to various committee assignments during his tenure.
Smith graduated from the University of Houston in 1967 with a Bachelor of Business
Administration. He has 48 years of experience in developing and managing engineering
and construction business entities around the world. Currently, Mr. Smith is the Chief
Operating Officer of Satterfield & Pontikes Construction Inc. He serves on Boards
at WWW United Inc. and HARC and served on the Boards of Fugro NV and the Center Foundation.
Smith and his wife Josanna continue to support their alma mater with involvement at
the Honors College, Psychology Department, and various Athletic support activities.
