Sara Lujan Donatto, Assistant Vice Chancellor / Assistant Vice President of Government and Community Relations at the University of Houston System, has been recognized as one of “Houston’s 50 Most Influential Women of 2025” by Houston Woman Magazine.

The prestigious annual list celebrates female leaders across the Greater Houston area who drive meaningful change, demonstrate exceptional industry expertise and inspire those around them. This recognition highlights Donatto’s pivotal role in bridging the University of Houston System with vital community, civic and government partners.

“Sara’s unique ability to navigate operational complexity while cultivating deep community relationships makes her well-deserving of this recognition. She consistently forges new paths to strengthen the University’s connection with the broader community.”

- Jason Smith, Vice Chancellor and Vice President for Government and Community Relations at UH

A Legacy of Leadership and Impact

Honorees for the "50 Women of Influence" list are first nominated by readers of Houston Woman Magazine and subsequently selected by the publication's leadership staff. The award recognizes women who have established themselves as trusted pillars in their respective fields.

According to Beverly Denver, editor and publisher of Houston Woman Magazine, “Those selected as Houston’s 50 Most Influential Women of 2025 have earned an enviable reputation for their expertise in a particular field or arena. They are knowledgeable and credible. The thoughts and actions of these women influence the thoughts and actions of others. It is our distinct pleasure to introduce these remarkable women to our readers and to others in our community.”

Celebrating Houston's Best

Donatto formally received her “50 Women of Influence” recognition award, which was presented by Houston Mayor John Whitmire, during a celebratory dinner this spring at the Junior League of Houston.

Representing the University of Houston System's ongoing commitment to community engagement, Donatto was celebrated alongside past honorees, elected officials and prominent civic leaders among a crowd of more than 330 attendees.
