Adrian Caraves

Student Regent ('26)

Adrian Caraves is a second-year graduate student pursuing a joint Master of Healthcare Administration and Master of Business Administration at UHCL. He entered the MHA/MBA program after gaining valuable experience in public health and healthcare administration at the Houston Health Department and UTMB Health. Since joining the program, Adrian has completed five administrative internships at leading institutions, including Cleveland Clinic, Houston Methodist, and MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he has had the opportunity to learn from experienced leaders and contribute to operational initiatives that improve patient care.

With a strong passion for healthcare operations, Adrian is committed to enhancing efficiency, patient access, and system-wide performance. Upon graduation, he hopes to serve as an Administrative Fellow at a top health system, where he can continue learning and applying his knowledge to support operational excellence. He also aspires to take on leadership and advocacy roles that focus on strengthening healthcare infrastructure and access, contributing to the well-being of communities in Houston and across Texas.

**Caraves is part of a group of students appointed by the Texas Governor to serve on their respective university system governing boards. These students have the same powers and duties as regents, but do not vote or are considered part of a quorum. The first such appointees served from 2006 to 2007. Prior to this, student regents were elected by their peers.
